You are naming and narrating the feelings so many of us are having. I have a stack of friends in my head to send this too bc Iām having this conversation so much! Bc it needs to! Your writing it helps document this phenomena that has to change. So thanks for writing ā”ļøš„
Youāve really captured this sad and perplexing phenomenon with American churches. It has such a discouraging and neutralizing effect on our faith. I always wonder to myselfā¦Why is Christian community THIS hard?! Is it because weāre not in our early 20s anymore? Have we become jaded? Is it something systemic?
Thanks for these posts, they definitely make the wandering feel less lonely ā¤ļø
Thank you so much for sharing this, Colette. This has been coming up in our hearts so much lately, even though we are a part of a church. Andy works for a group of three churches as the director of digital strategies, and is constantly fighting the drive of production over relationship given by most of the rest of the team. Our only solace is that some day we may see change by being the change as much as we can be ourselves. If it weren't for our wonderful home community we've been a part of for the last three years, I think we would feel orphaned as well.

Thank you for sharing. This is completely true and the time is now to revamp the church and bring us into complete fellowship once again.
